The Simpsons

The hype machine is really starting to ramp up for the upcoming The Simpsons Movie. Here's a few movie tie-in highlights plus a couple of other cool The Simpsons websites and activities.

First and foremost, there are 12 7-11s that have been transformed into Kwik-E-Marts. These stores are filled with Simpsons references and products, and according this this article, traffic and sales have doubled at the stores that have been converted. Too bad the closest one is in NYC.

Up next is the competition between Springfields to host the movie premeire. Springfields around the country have submitted five minute videos to show their "Simpson Spirit," and the city that voters think is most deserving will host the hometown premiere of the movie. Go Springfield, Massachusetts!

In addition to these real world Simpsons activities, you can now create your very own Simpsons character on The Simpsons Movie Website. I haven't tried this out yet (can't do it on my work computer), but check out what EW Popwatch was able to create!

Finally, the great website Simpsons website NoHomers.net has a fun quiz that tells you which Simpsons character you are most like. I'm not sure how well this works since I don't consider myself a Bart, but its still entertaining.
